Cancellations
No-Shows seriously hurt my business.
I require at least 24 hours notice for cancellation or rescheduling of appointments. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled without a 24 hour notice might be subject to a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the booked service price.
Vaccinations
In accordance with North Carolina State Law, we do require all pet's to be current on rabies vaccination after 16 weeks of age. While we thoroughly sanitize our facilities, we cannot be held liable for any infections or conditions such as kennel cough, canine influenza, Parvo, or other similar illnesses.
Fleas/Ticks
If a pet is found to have a major parasite infestation, they will either be sent home for treatment or bathed and treated immediately. Any additional charges incurred for this extra service will be the owner's responsibility.
Grooming/Dematting
Grooming may expose pre-existing health or skin conditions for which I, at All Paw’d Up, cannot be held liable. I am not responsible for nicks and/or cuts on pets that move, jerk, roll, or cannot behave during grooming or bathing. Nail cutting and ear cleaning are part of the service unless otherwise specified or if the process is too stressful for the pet or too dangerous for the groomer. I use ear powder to pluck the hair in pets' ears, but dogs with excessive ear hair may develop ear infections due to the excessive hair. In some circumstances, I may refer you to a vet for ear plucking. There is also a risk of cutting nails and hitting the quick, which may cause bleeding.
Pets with matted coats require extra attention during their grooming session. Mats left in a pet’s coat only grow tighter, potentially strangling the skin or tearing it open. I do not wish to cause undue stress to your pet and will not continually de-mat your pet. Mats can be very difficult to remove and may require shaving the pet. Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the skin, allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow and cause pre-existing skin irritations. Torn skin from mats can harbor maggots. After-effects of mat removal can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of the hair to re-grow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should be kept out of the sun until their hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. Pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. The best defense against matting is regular grooming appointments. I reserve the right to refuse service to clients who do not maintain a regular grooming schedule. There will be an extra charge for pets requiring de-matting or a matted shave-down.
Maintaining a grooming schedule every 4 to 6 weeks reduces stress and ensures a smoother experience for both your dog and our groomers. I strictly adhere to the policy of NOT shaving double-coated dogs unless it is for health reasons as advised by your vet. Your pet's welfare is my top priority.
Senior Pets
To best accommodate senior pets or those with medical conditions, I may recommend adjustments to your pet’s grooming routine, schedule, or style to better meet their evolving needs. This could include changing the frequency of appointments or altering the length and style of their haircut. As pets age or their health changes, they might become less tolerant of certain grooming procedures, such as blow drying, and we may need to find alternative solutions. This may result in a groom that is less polished and plush than you are accustomed to. It might also become necessary to opt for a shorter style or skip detailed hand scissoring. Even if your pet has been comfortable with these processes for years, changes in their age or health can affect their tolerance for grooming.
Social Media
I may take photos and/or videos of your pet before, during, or after their grooming session for use on All Paw'd Up's social media pages and for other marketing purposes.
I eagerly anticipate welcoming you and your furry companion to All Paw’d Up!
